Sitemeter , one of the best counter i ever seen for website owners, it shows online users, Referrals (From where people coming to your site), country locations, browser etc etc.. all in detail.

I am using it in almost all my sites and blogs, but i hacked the Sitemeter to hide it. This feature (Hidden counter) is available in PRO version only, but you can easily hack it to hide it. Remember i am not going to teach you anything special or any coding changes which may break there terms of use.
Its just few setting changes which will work fine.

so want to hide your sitemeter counter ?
1. Offcourse Login to your sitemeter account and go to manager.
2. Now next , Go to Meter style option from left hand menu.

3. Select 2nd last meter style (Counter, which shows simple numbers).
4. Now in “DIGIT COLOR” select transparent similarly in “BACKGROUND COLOR” select transparent.
5. DONE. now your sitemeter counter is invisible from normal eyes in your site

Place it anywhere in your blog, and track your traffic, users.

NOTE : Doing this hack will NOT make you voiding the TOS of Sitemeter, so do it unless they fix it. :)

Why will it be any faster to load just because you made it transparent? You still have to connect to their site to get the numbers right? The overhead will take more time in this case than actually the data but that would still be true even if they are black.

It is violating the spirit of their TOS if not the letter of it to do this. But I agree they should fix it.

BTW tanks for visiting my blog and I may take you up on that challenge to write more lyrics.

    Hi,

The better and easy way to hide site counter OR any other counter is to use DIV HTML Tag with CSS hidden attribute.

    For example:
If you like to hide site counter wrap site counter code with DIV tags:

    site counter code

    <div style=”visibility: hidden;”>
    site counter copy/paste code

I’m such an idiot! Do you know that when I recreated my blog, I used absolute positioning. The only way I could hide the SiteMeter image was to put it in a div and then create another div to cover the SiteMeter div.

Why didn’t I think of your idea? Thanks a lot!
