Why i am “NOT” buying an I-Phone

Apple-iPhone

Apple-iPhone

I-Phone, Apple launched the I-Phone is JAN07 in US, and now after about 20 months it is coming in India.I was very exited about this event (as i am a gadget geek) , i was planning to buy the i-phone. BUT, when i saw the features of I-Phone, i changed my plan. And i can say that i am very much happy with my Nokia N72.
Actually I-phone looks great, but its features..,,, naah.
Take a look at few things that I-Phone lacks.

1.Hows the Camera.

> I-Phone has 2.0 MegaPixel Camera, but without Zoom !!.NO Video recording. No Flash. So again here my N72 is better.

2.Cost
> 30,000 INR + !!!
Outside India you can buy I-Phone for about 200$ (8000-10,000 INR) but in India it will cost you more than 30,000 INR.

3.NO Bluetooth File transfer
> In I-Phone, bluetooth is just for communication with headsets and some accessory, but you can not use it for File transfer between two handsets or between PC to Mobile.

4.Does not support S60 Software
> One of the best feature of Nokia Symbian handsets is support to huge number of applications, but as I-Phone is not based on Symbian series, it wont support such softwares.

5.Locked with Network operator
> Once you brought the I-phone from specific operator, you can not change the operator !!
(Though you can change, but doing so may void the warranty)

6. No SMS Forward
> When ever we got some good SMS, we just forward it to our Friends, but in I-Phone there is no option for Forwarding SMS. (Even No Copy paste option)

7.Cant handle with out eyes
> Unlike other handset, you cant handle your I-Phone without looking at it, you have to keep your eyes on mobile to type SMS.

8.NO Character Count in SMS
> When ever you type SMS, we keep our eyes on Character count to avoid double SMS charges, but I-Phone doent have Character count in SMS. (Character count means the number of character typed in SMS)

9.No MMS Support
> No Multimedia support till date.

10. Battery problem
> Battery of I-Phone will drain out quickly if you are playing songs, and one of the biggest issue is that batter is soldered into the phone, so you can not carry extra battery. To replace the battery you have to take your I-Phone to service center.

11.NO 3G or GPS in India
> I-Phone supports 3G and GPS (Global positioning system), but Indian carriers dosnt .

12.No iTune No Music
> For transferring the music into your handset you need itunes to be installed into the computer system, else no music transfers.

Apple Iphone Keyboard

Apple Iphone Keyboard

13.No Keyborad
> To control your I-Phone, you are totally depends on touch screen, No keyboard. so if your hands are dirty, Do not touch I-Phone.

So whats your plan now ?
Are you buying Apple I-Phone ? :D

MAte it has its own OS so no chance of S60 app to work on it!! it is providing other platform for developers to work on.

Abhishek is quite right..iPhone has apple OS and it has an Apps store to get all the software you need. and although it has a 2mega pixel camera … the photo quality is quite high. and with an application you can record video also. some of the other problems are going to be solved by the firmware/software update. Apple CEO Steve Jobs had said that with iPhone 3G they have looked into the corporate features only and further updates will bring other features also. And glass keyboard is a getting used to thing.

Quotes aren’t used for emphasis. Using them that way looks like you’re trying to be ironic.

vinitneo you are right but what about price??
Here in India, it is near about 31,000 for 8 gb and 36,100 for 6 gb.
In this much price(or less), We can get a cool nokia n96 16 gb(35,000 INR)!!

Nobody should buy the I-Phone. No such legitimate device exists, and it is therefore a knock-off. The same applies to the fake device called the “iTouch”.

@iamashish the price is a factor. It should have been a little less. but selling it at 200$ would have stumbled the Indian mobile market. Other mobile sellers would be forced to lower there price and the business won’t be profitable to them.
AND yes I like Nokia phones more and I think N96 is more reasonably priced. In fact one should never buy a phone which is liked down by the network. AND the NEW NOKIA phones are getting seriously sexy.

    —–
could anyone tell me about some really good S60 apps for Nokia N70. THANKS

    @ vinitneo
    Yes, you r right.
If they fixed the price near about $200, then it was a huge hit here.
BUT due to the price as compared to the specifications, I would definitely prefer nokia n96, which comes with the same price tag!

About Rates and Apps of iPhone.
Currently there are very less Apps available for iPhone. but on other hand for S60 handsets there are many Apps available.
And Rates of iPhone are really extraordinary.
