Many people need Airtel GPRS or Airtel Live setting on there mobile [May be for Free Airtel GPRS Trick] or just for normal surfing. Airtel provides a Good service for all mobile users to access Internet on there Mobile at very low cost [If you need it for Free Check out this post "Free Airtel GPRS Hack"] Airtel charges 15Rs/Day for unlimited download to use internet on Mobile of even on Personal Computer.
To access this service you must have some setting on your mobile, which connects you to Airtel server for Internet and provides a authentication. To get the setting directly to your mobile just SMS “MO” (Withot Quotes) to 2567 [Toll Free]. Within few Minutes [or sometimes Hours] you will get those setting to your mobile.
Airtel will send those “Airtel Live” and “Airtel GPRS” [Mobile office] and “Airtel MMS” setting to your mobile free of cost in form of SMS, you need to save them and activate any of the service to use it.
To activate the Airtel GPRS [i.e. Mobile office] Just send “GPRSACT” (Withot Quotes) to 511[Toll Free]. Within 4Hrs your Airtel GPRS will be activated. To deactivate it send “GPRSDEACT” (Withot Quotes) to 511 [Toll Free] and your service will be deactivated within 4Hrs. To use this service you must have balance of 15Rs+. and it will charge you 15Rs/Day.
To activate the Airtel LIVE Just send “LIVEACT” (Withot Quotes) to 511[Toll Free]. Within 4Hrs your Airtel LIVE will be activated. To deactivate it send “LIVEDEACT” (Withot Quotes) to 511 [Toll Free] and your service will be deactivated within 4Hrs. Same for this service, to use this service you must have balance of 15Rs+. and there is NO CHARGE for activating this service, You will be charged per KB you download.
Still if you face any problem Just call 121 from your Airtel mobile.

I Feel, it is because of such loopholes that Vodafone, according to me is better. Airtel also has serious network problems, making calling difficult..
Anyways, nice find, who doesnt like free GPRS? I’m on Vodafone though

I never got any network problem with Airtel. Airtel Friends sims are best, thats why Airtel is so popular. At least in my area Airtel gives good network

I still disagree. Maybe Airtel do not have good Towers in Kolkata. Here, the voice breaks, cracks and call suddenly end- only in some places(some of which have big colonies). And that, to me, isn’t too good.
Yes, I agree with you about the online part. Who doesn’t like free GPRS?

Apparently the correct airtel settings are as follows (in Mumbai);
apn: airtelfun.com
IP: automatic
No username and password required
Use proxy server – yes
Proxy server 100.001.200.099
Proxy server port 9201
This should work……

1. 10Rs A DAY surfing limit is upto 3 mb

After much frustration I finally got gprs working on Airtel. Most of the frustration was in activating the gprs service. I had to dial *567# then select the 3rd option (2GB nightly). No other option would even work.
As for the APN settings, all I did was add the APN ‘airtelgprs.com’. I did not use any server or proxy settings. Everything works now.
