Recently i faced a problem of high CPU usages from my old servers, i.e. iWhic.com. TheChetan.com was down for about two days because they suspended my account because of 75% of CPU usages. Can you imagine 75% CPU usages by a WordPress blog with not more than 1000Unique visitors per day ? On the same day i installed WP-Super cache plug in which works great and supported me at such low powered servers.
There servers are underpowered. They even cant face the traffic of 1000 Unique visitors per day !! . There database server is also very poor. My error_log file (present under root directory of your wordpress installation) was full with errors of database server. The errors were like “WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query” clearly notifying the power of there database servers.
So i decided to change the host servers, my friend Abhishek is using Hostgator service. I have seen the power of there host servers. They are good, and one of the most important fact was there support system. When my site was down at iWhic, there support system replied to my question after about 24Hrs and my account was restarted after 48Hrs.

Here at Hostgator the support system is really fast.Even i can now directly chat with support people if i have some urgent problem. Currently i shifted all my sites to hostgator and all are working superb with no tension of high CPU usages.Hostgator allows 25% of CPU usages for 90seconds. But as there servers are really high performance i never seen my CPU usages more than a percent.
Currently i am happy with the hostgator, lets see what happens in the future. Hope for the best and ready for the worst
Which host are you using ? are you happy with it ?

Good luck Chetan with host gator. Don’t forget to install WP super cache plugin. And post revision control plugin. They will help you. Try to limit your plugins to minimum

Well, hostgator is nice… congrats and good luck on that…
I think the latest version of wordpress super cache has some problem with expired pages not getting deleted, check out, if you find problems, switch to older version…

Couldn’t agree more about the Super Cache setting, but I find it works well on the half-setting… seems to interfere less with other functions/plugins. One thing that continues to concern me is the logging of accurate stats… and I really wonder how accurate your server was in recording usage. You aren’t exactly YouTube! Good luck!

Hi
I wonder how any host could provide “unlimited” anything for a price that is finite – more so, quality bandwidth which costs a penny. These web hosts that flaunt unlimited resources actually oversell to an astronomical proportions with the assumption that the hostees would not use much. The nub comes only when your site gets “Digg”-ed, or you offer something for download, or throw it open for online gaming etc! You’ll then find that the folks sing a different tune!
But, it’s fine so long as you get prompt support for WordPress-related problems.
Best of luck!
Regards
S.K

//and about the wordpress support, me myself can help others if they have any problem in wordpress.//
Including those which are to be solved at the server end – like those related to PHP configuration (like fopen etc), thrown by certain plugins which are regularly discussed in WP forums?
Perhaps you get root access through SSH.

I am long due for a move away from hostmonster. Hostgator really rocks as per almost all bloggers who use shared hosting.
How easy was the move for you??? Any major downtime or loss of backlinks etc?

@Vivek, Hello Vivek,
Yahoo hosting is costly. I m using Hostgator‘s Baby plan which costs around $10 if u pay monthly, but i purchased there yearly plan for about $100 using some coupon code, which saved my $20. (If u need HostGator coupon let me know, i have many of them) n yes, they allow unlimited domains to host using one account (Not allowed in Hatchling plan)
