The Mozilla Campus rep. is specially for college and school students who love firefox and want to be a part of firefox team to popularize their favorite web browser. Proudly I am Mozilla campus representative, a part of firefox lovers and promoters.

The day i started blogging on this domain, i put the firefox badge on sidebar with download link for new users who don’t use firefox, i also write posts about firefox and its tweaks. Recently written post about “How firefox earns money ?” was one of the most popular post on my blog. Many people loved that post.

As a Mozilla campus reps, my responsibility is to promote firefox around me, in my college, etc. For that purpose Mozilla sent me “Firefox Swag pack” which includes Campus representative T-shirt, college bag, stickers, button badges, tattoos, Lanyards, etc. Now i will have to organize one event in college for promotion of firefox, and have to distribute these goodies among the students.

If you want to be a Mozilla campus representative, go to SpreadFirefox.com/campusreps and sign up. Dont think that you too will get the swag pack like me, it is only for selected people. They will open registration for swag packs in few months, so if you want the swag pack, stay in touch with that page. Fill up the request for swag pack, and they select few students to have the swag pack.

Have you ever thought how they earn money ?? How they spend that much time and invest that much money on development of such a free software ??

Mozilla co-op is the company behind the Firefox web browser, Mozilla co-op was started as Non-profit company, but now its no more in that category. They are earning $40,000,000 per year !! but how ??

With every Firefox browser we got the search engine toolbar with Google as default search engine for that bar. Here starts the earning trick. Google pays huge amount to Firefox for making the default search engine in that bar and for making the home page as Google.com i.e. “Firefox Start Page” which have Google bar. This deal with Google, helps Firefox to earn there 85% of total earnings !!
This agreement with Google will end in November of 2011 so they have plenty of money to continue the development of new and advanced version of Firefox.

Firefox also sells t-shirts, and such other accessories with high price tag at there Firefox stores, and people (like me) buy them because it feels great to have official clothing and accessories from such big brands.

People also donate to firefox for there development work, donation also plays an important role in earning money.

They also got millions of hits to there site per day, so there must be some sort of earning strategy there too. but i dont have any idea about it.

Just few months ago one search engine called cuil was launched by former Google employees but after getting huge popularity it was a fail. Cuil even fail to crawl TheChetan.com even after 5 months of there launch. and Even today it is not crawled properly and never received even a single visitor from them !!

So this new step my Microsoft will fail ?? Now this depends on time.
They have many new features. I think rather than explaining them here, you should use them to experience them.
One of the best and interesting feature is .. they change there main background on daily basis, so it will be interesting to see the new image on each day.

As Microsoft Internet explorer is widely used web browser, now Microsoft will give preinstalled Bing toolbar in IE, so i think the users of Bing will increase with time. Also Microsoft is launching Windows 7 in few months, so there must be some features in Windows 7 for there new baby… BING !!

Using Firefox as Filebrowser

You can enhance it, are you tired of multiple windows [by using standard Windows Explorer]!! ??
Just install Plug-in in Firefox called IE Tab and Switch the rendering engine, and open your Drives in Firefox, and use Multi-tab functionality of firefox in browsing your computer !!! [NOTE: Click on images to see Bigger versions]

Though currently it looks better, now allmost all my plug-ins have Firefox 3 support and they are running fine. Looks are also cool. and i about the new location bar, i am using a plugin named OldBar to get the same Firefox 2 effect.
