Mozilla Firefox – a free and open source software – a web browser, If you are web surfer from many years then you must know Firefox. Firefox is famous for its security, customization and browsing speed. There is one program ran by Mozilla to promote the Firefox, it is called as Mozilla Campus rep.

The Mozilla Campus rep. is specially for college and school students who love firefox and want to be a part of firefox team to popularize their favorite web browser. Proudly I am Mozilla campus representative, a part of firefox lovers and promoters.

The day i started blogging on this domain, i put the firefox badge on sidebar with download link for new users who don’t use firefox, i also write posts about firefox and its tweaks. Recently written post about “How firefox earns money ?” was one of the most popular post on my blog. Many people loved that post.

As a Mozilla campus reps, my responsibility is to promote firefox around me, in my college, etc. For that purpose Mozilla sent me “Firefox Swag pack” which includes Campus representative T-shirt, college bag, stickers, button badges, tattoos, Lanyards, etc. Now i will have to organize one event in college for promotion of firefox, and have to distribute these goodies among the students.

If you want to be a Mozilla campus representative, go to SpreadFirefox.com/campusreps and sign up. Dont think that you too will get the swag pack like me, it is only for selected people. They will open registration for swag packs in few months, so if you want the swag pack, stay in touch with that page. Fill up the request for swag pack, and they select few students to have the swag pack.

Got a Laptop sticker from Hostgator for Free !!

Just few months ago i switched to Hostgator hosting and yes i am very happy and impressed by there service. There 24×7 support is really awesome and hosting itself is superb. I never crossed CPU usages more than even 1% till date, really powerful servers than my old hosting.

So this post in about Hostgator stickers, just today i received my Hostgator stickers from Houston, TX USA. In white envelope. The sticker consists of simple Hostgator logo i.e. dragon eating “H” and HostGator.com written below it.

To get these sticker you just have to tweet about why you like HostGator (be sure to use the hashtag “#hgsticker”) and fill out the form at HostGator.com/sticker.php. and wait for stickers. Now i use HostGator so they sent me stickers, n i dont know how they will react to the people who dont use HostGator and still like it.

Now a days the camera resolutions are increasing just like cost of petrol. 2MP – 3.2 MP —– 10MP….12MP .. !! ohh… The size of such images is also very huge ranging from 1 MB to more than 10MB. E-mailing such huge images is really hectic task, upload that huge image and the receiver will download that huge image.

Even for storage you need small images from your collection of high resolution images, if the resolution of images is smaller then you can store maximum images in your CD or Pendrive or computer, etc.

Some times u need to resize images for your other needs like resizing images for small device screens like cell phones wallpapers, etc. Webmaster, bloggers also need software to resize images to post them into there websites or blogs. So for many purpose we need a good image resizer software.

Ubuntu 9.04 launched including for Notebooks.

After release of Ubuntu 8.10 now Canonical launched the latest and new version of Ubuntu Linux. The new version is 9.04 and have codename as “Jaunty Jackalope”. This new version of Ubuntu is released on 23rd of April 2009. Means just 4 days ago.

This new version is released after 1year of last release which was 8.04, this new released do not contain any special changes like the previous one. But this time they released a special version for Notebook users, called “Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix” which is specially tested on few branded know laptops.

I just cant understand one issue here at Ubuntu’s download page. Check this image

I was just shocked that Ubuntu is preferring the users to use the older version and its support is more than the newer version. !! I don’t know why, but its strange.Same case is with the server edition of Ubuntu, the older version 8.04 is support until 2013 and the newer 9.04 if support until 2010.

According to Matt Cutts – The Google engineer, the new ubuntu 9.04 boots in just 7.83 sec !! Now its time to check it on my system which is not as high powered as the Matt’s system.

But still as always Ubuntu is free to download and it really rocks with its amazing graphics and amazing features. I am still using Ubuntu in my laptop.
