Mozilla had sent me the goodies for the party. Every attendee received goodies from Mozilla. The goodies include Sticker set, Wrist band, Lanyard, Button badge and a Tattoo. I still have few goodies left with me, let me know if you want them.

Have you ever thought how they earn money ?? How they spend that much time and invest that much money on development of such a free software ??

Mozilla co-op is the company behind the Firefox web browser, Mozilla co-op was started as Non-profit company, but now its no more in that category. They are earning $40,000,000 per year !! but how ??

With every Firefox browser we got the search engine toolbar with Google as default search engine for that bar. Here starts the earning trick. Google pays huge amount to Firefox for making the default search engine in that bar and for making the home page as Google.com i.e. “Firefox Start Page” which have Google bar. This deal with Google, helps Firefox to earn there 85% of total earnings !!
This agreement with Google will end in November of 2011 so they have plenty of money to continue the development of new and advanced version of Firefox.

Firefox also sells t-shirts, and such other accessories with high price tag at there Firefox stores, and people (like me) buy them because it feels great to have official clothing and accessories from such big brands.

People also donate to firefox for there development work, donation also plays an important role in earning money.

They also got millions of hits to there site per day, so there must be some sort of earning strategy there too. but i dont have any idea about it.

Firefox is one of the best Browser made ever, it has many features with super security and high flexibility.Firefox was the browser for Linux, but now it is being used in almost all OS.

Now Microsoft is coping the Firefox like styling for example Tabbed Browsing, Warning before closing the browser, etc.

2.Security – Firefox warns users when ever there are few risks in connection like no encryption in ssl pages etc.
3.Plug-in support – Plug-In support is one of the best feature of Firefox which makes it better that Internet explorer. You can download and install the plug-ins in your firefox browser to make it work as your needs.
4.Tabbed browsing – In Internet explorer when ever you open a new site in new window, it creates a problem, it clutter up the taskbar. but in Firefox no need to open new window, everything is tabbed, i.t one Window but multiple site browsing.(Microsoft is using this feature in there new IE7)
5.Faster browsing – Firefox’s cache system is very powerfull, it stores many frequently using sites cache so that next time when you open the site , it will load quicker.
