Mozilla Firefox 4 Launch party – Nagpur – India

Recently we organized Mozilla Firefox 4 Launch party at our city Nagpur. I had great time with techies from and around the Nagpur. Around 32 people RSVPed ‘Yes’ to the event and 26 people actually attended it.

Mozilla had sent me the goodies for the party. Every attendee received goodies from Mozilla. The goodies include Sticker set, Wrist band, Lanyard, Button badge and a Tattoo. I still have few goodies left with me, let me know if you want them.

Netbeans, whenever word Netbeans comes into mind we thought of an IDE for development of Java applications. But Netbeans is not just an IDE, its a RCP i.e. Rich Client Platform for developing applications quickly and easily. Netbeans platform provides application architecture so that you don’t need code everything again from scratch. Just use the proven and tested features of the framework provided by the Netbeans platform to develope the applications. We have created a group for people passionate about NetBeans IDE or NetBeans Platform and who are interested in learning about it.

We recently had our 1st NUG meet. This meet was held at Beans and Buddies on 23rd September 2010. It was startup meet for the group. Few group members Hrushikesh, Atul, Dhawal already wrote a blog post on it. So you can read more about it on their respective blogs.

One of the most important highlight of the meet was, the announcement made by Tushar Joshi Sir about the training sessions of Netbeans platform from Geertjan Wielenga, of Oracle Corporation. This will be two days session with participation certificate from Oracle. Nagpur PHP Meetup – How to secure your WordPress Blog.

Every month at Nagpur few PHP enthusiasts organize one event called PHP Meetup. The event is for PHP enthusiasts, for people who are using PHP and who are interested in learning PHP. I am not a PHP expert but a Open Source lover and a newbie to PHP world. In this meetup I presented one seminar on “Securing the WordPress Blog”.

WordPress, the most popular blogging platform on the Internet. Many companies, company officials and casual bloggers are using WordPress as there Blogging platform. Many people converted WordPress into full flesh websites and using it as CMS. You can check the WordPress Showcase to see the which popular sites are using WordPress.
